How do Online Real Estate Classes Work? Each online class includes lessons that you can review at your own pace. The material includes interactive exercises, visually stimulating instructional graphics and exams that help measure your understanding of the material. Each chapter is followed with a lesson exam. Students must complete all lesson exams with a 90% pass rate. Lesson exams can be taken multiple times. Once you have successfully completed all assignments/exams you have earned credit. Once purchased you have a year to complete the course. The average amount of time that it takes for students to complete a course is based on the number of credits. Typically you can count on spending approximately one hour for every one credit of the course. So a 6 credit course will take you approximately 6 hours to complete. State of Tennessee Real Estate License Continuing Education Requirements:Affiliate brokers are required to renew their license every two years by successfully completing 16 hours of continuing education (CE) courses approved by the Tennessee Real Estate Commission. Four of those 16 hours must include the mandatory "TREC Core Course." All 16 CE hours must be acquired by November 1st of even numbered years in order for your license to be renewed the following 2 years. Brokers who receive their license after January 1, 2005, will also be required to complete 16 hours of continuing education, just as an affiliate broker. This is a new policy enacted by the Tennessee Real Estate Commission in 2004. Those individuals who received their license before July 1, 1980, are considered grandfathered and are not required to complete 16 hours of continuing education.
